about
There’s something so solemnly sacred and magically nostalgic about Ian’s Christmas offering, “Listen To The Choir Sing,” that one can’t help but imagine it featuring in both a midnight mass and A Charlie Brown Christmas. So if your Christmas wish is for Vince Guaraldi to rise from the dead and collaborate with Sigur Ros, well, you can finally put that dream to rest by listening, yes, to “Listen To The Choir Sing.”
Ian’s collaborators are all, not coincidentally, Christmas freaks. The sort of folk that are still tempted to wake up before the sun on Christmas morning. There’s the song’s co-writer, Chris Newkirk, whose holiday ritual revolves around the Animagic Rudolph special and It’s A Wonderful Life; musician and co-producer John Mosloskie (of Holler, Wild Rose!), whose way around any carol or hymn has Ian wondering if he’s some earthbound angel; and cover art creator Sarah Fuchsia, whose annual homemade Christmas cards and holiday mixes are staple here at Bailey Park Records.
So, listen to Ian (and John!) sing “Listen To The Choir Sing” on all the days that lead up to December 25th.

lyrics
LYRICS:
When I finally fall asleep
His bells will ring inside my head
The messiah visits in my dreams
And shepherds gather 'round my bed
It's four A.M., I'm half-awake
Wrapped in someone's velvet wings
The lips below the halo say
Listen to the choir sing
On all the days that lead up to December 25th
The hallelujah chorus orbits all around the earth
Around this earth
