about

ENDS & ODDS is a collection of songs that I wrote with my friend Chris Newkirk and recorded between 2005 - 2013. There's a Madonna cover and a Death Cab For Cutie cover too. Instrumentals and remixes. Songs that were left off of studio albums and songs that leave you wanting more. Thanks for listening. Please enjoy!

1. Choir of Diamonds : This is the end of the "Passport" version of "I'll Bring You Diamonds" which was written with Chris Newkirk and recorded for the "Diamonds EP" released on November 20, 2007. I thought it was an interesting moment on its own. You can also hear it at the end of the "NYC" version included in this collection. The "Diamonds EP" is currently out of print.

2. Borderline (Madonna cover) : I recorded four very different versions of "Borderline" over the course of 2009 for a "Borderline EP." After that idea was scrapped, these four versions sat on a shelf for 9 years. This one version of "Borderline" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

3. Pioneers : "Pioneers" was written with Chris Newkirk and recorded for the "Now We're Golden" album, produced by Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, R.E.M., Big Star). It was one of the earlier tracks recorded and ultimately left off of the album. "Pioneers" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

4. Abandon The Morning : "Abandon The Morning" was written with Chris Newkirk and recorded for the "This is the Sound" album, produced by John Mosloskie (Holler, Wild Rose!). It was a staple in set lists at shows and tours from 2003 to 2010 but it was ultimately left off of the album. "Abandon The Morning" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

5. Barcelona : "Barcelona" was written with Chris Newkirk in 2005. It found its way onto a compilation CD in 2013 called "Exposing Darkness: Artists Bringing Trafficking To Light." It is a music compilation featuring 16 artists of different genres united to fight human trafficking. Because of the comps limited release, I decided to include "Barcelona" here on ENDS & ODDS.

6. I Will Follow You Into The Dark (Death Cab For Cutie cover) : I recorded this Death Cab For Cutie song in 2012 for fans of mine from Philadelphia and presented it to them as a gift on their wedding day. I also sang it at their wedding. "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

7. 4pm : A little unfinished ditty that I wrote and recorded one afternoon in 2011. "4pm" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

8. Miracle At The Matinee : An instrumental track that I wrote in 2008. "Miracle At The Matinee" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

9. I'll Bring You Diamonds (NYC) : An alternate version of "I'll Bring You Diamonds" from the "Diamonds EP," written with Chris Newkirk for a TV commercial. "I'll Bring You Diamonds (NYC)" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

10. Liberace Lounge Party : Don't ask me about this one. I have no idea where it came from. Ha! "Liberace Lounge Party" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

11. The Exception (jESTER's Helioc Remix) : Eric "Jester" Bowers remixed "The Exception" twice. One version can be found on the album "Tomorrow's Re-Taken." This version of "The Exception" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS after sitting on a shelf for 11 years.

12. Dark, Dark Water : I wrote "Dark, Dark Water" with Chris Newkirk in 2006. It was recorded in 2009. "Dark, Dark Water" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

13. Peninsula (Ambient Remix) : At some point in 2010 the idea of remixing the album "This Is The Sound" was a serious one. The idea was quickly scrapped because the album wasn't recorded using a click track, making it near impossible for remixers to remix any of the original tracks. This "Ambient Remix" of "Peninsula" is my very own attempt at remixing and makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.

14. Break The Moon : I wrote "Break The Moon" with Chris Newkirk in 2009. "Break The Moon" makes its debut here on ENDS & ODDS.
